in Edinburgh at the age of 59. His Death Certificate says he was
a carter and also a vanman. He m. Mary Dykes 29 Oct 1841. Mid Calder.

3. John Prenticewas b. 1846. He m. Janet Lindsay on 21 Sep 1866 in Newington, Edinburgh. John was called a shop-porter on his marriage certificate in 1866. When his son James was married in 1885, John was called a maltster. Children (per IGI):

4. James Prentice was b. 1866 in Edinburgh and died 1916 in Edinburgh. He m. Annie Ross on 27 Feb 1885 in Newington. James was a confectioner. Two of his sons were killed in WW1. Children:

5. Janet Lindsay Prentice, b. 1885 and d. 1942. She m. Earle Fraser in 1909 in Fife. They are Allen Fraser's grandparents. Allen lives in Liverpool, UK.
Family of Archibald Prentice
1. Archibald Prentice m. Elizabeth Morton on 3 Jan 1808. It is not the Archibald Prentice born in Whitburn in 1795. If he is the Archibald born in 1765, he would have been 43, so it might have been a second marriage for him. No children christened in Whitburn are shown of Archibald's marriage to Elizabeth Morton.
