    Update of 22 Dec 2006: The 1841 census shows that John Prentice is the son of John Prentice, b. c. 1806, Lanarkshire, and his wife Janet, b. c. 1811, Lanarkshire. For his family tree, see our Summer 1999 article about John Prentice of Carluke, Scotland where he is #1.

    In reviewing the 1861 Census information of Cambusnethan, Scotland which was posted on RootsWeb Web Archives for LANARK-L Mailing List by Kathleen T. Choi on 16 Jul 1999, we find the family of:

    1. John Prentice, b. c. 1839, Carluke, Lanarkshire, Scotland . In the 1860 Carluke census he was a house carpenter, and a lodger with Nelson Murray.
