    It is based on Binney's 1883 Edition. Unfortunately there are almost no dates and
    places for births, marriages and deaths. If you have any additional information about
    those folks, we would surely like to hear from you. 
    THOMAS PRENTICE OF PROVIDENCE, RI


1.	Capt. Thomas Prentice of Suffolk Co., England was born about 1750.  Pressed into 
the naval service in England, he escaped from a vessel bound to America and settled in 
Providence, RI.  He married there, 26 Jun 1788, Elizabeth Field of Providence. He was 
captain of a merchant vessel from Providence to the West Indies and died in 1831 or 1832.  
Children born, probably after 1788 and probably in Providence, RI.  Children:

	i.	John Prentice, Tailor, b. c. 1796 and  m. Sally , b. c. 1797.   
		Children (per Binney and 1850 census):
		1.	John Prentice.
		2.	William K. Prentice.
		3.	George W. Prentice, b, c. 1831.  He may be the George W. Prentice 
			who m. Maria Louisa Fisher in Providence on 22 Sep 1853. He may 
			also be the George W. Prentice shown in the 1900 Providence 
			census with his wife, Emma F.
		4.	Thomas W. Prentice, b. c. 1833.  He might be the Thomas W. 
			Prentice who m. Amanda M. Bennett in Providence on 27 Nov 1860.
		5.	Frank Prentice, b. c. 1838.
		6.	Harriet N. Prentice.

		7.	Mary D. Prentice.

	ii.	Richard Prentice, born after 1788.

	iii.	Benjamin Prentice, born c. 1804 and  went to Worcester, MA and lived there 
		in 1882.  Me m. Mehitable, b. c. 1814, NH.  Children (Per Binney & 1850 
		Worcester, MA census):
		1.	Benjamin W. Prentice, Jr., b. c. 1832, MA.  in bus. in Worcester.
		2.	Vernon Prentice, b. c. 1839, MA.  In bus. in Worcester.
		3.	Albert F. Prentice, b. c. 1841; in bus. in Worcester
		4.  	Alfred Prentice, b. c. 1844, MA.
		5.	Jane E. Prentice, b. c. 1846, MA

	iv.	Daniel T. Prentice, Tailor, born c. 1810; m. Mary Bogman of Providence, RI 
		on 14 Nov 1831.  She was b. c. 1810.  There in 1882. Children (per Binney
		and 1850 census):
		1.	Daniel Prentice.
		2.	Benjamin Prentice.
		3.	Louis Prentice.
		4.	May/Mary E. Prentice, b. c. 1832.
		5.	Josephine Prentice, b. c. 1833.  She may be the Josephine M. 
			Prentice who m. Levi L. Webster in Providence, RI on 11 Sep 1853.
		6.	Cornelia Prentice, b. c. 1835  She is probably the person shown 
			in the Marriage Index as Cornelia D. Prentice who m. James H. 
			Field in Providence, RI on 14 May 1860.
		7.	Daniel Prentice, b. c. 1837.
		8.	Benjamin Prentice, b. c. 1838.
		9.	Anna Prentice, b. c. 1840.
		10.	Emma Prentice, b. c. 1843.  She is probably the person shown in 
			the Marriage Index as Emma Frances Prentice who m. Thomas Aaron 
			Bowen in Providence, RI on 17 Nov 1869
		11.	Eugene Prentice, b. c. 1846.
		12.	Frank Prentice, b. c. 1848.

	v.	George W. Prentice, born after 1788; m. Lucy Eaton of Franklin, MA.  
			Children, perhaps b. c. 1810-40:
		1.	Harry Prentice.
		2.	George Prentice.
		3.	Melliner P. Prentice, a daughter.

	vi.	Sally E. Prentice; m. Caleb Arnold of Providence, RI on 21 Dec 1815.  
			Children, born after 1815:
