John Owen Prentice

1. John Owen Prentice was perhaps b. c. 1855-60, perhaps in VT, or perhaps in IL. If John were about his wife's age, he was probably born about 1855-60.
He might be the John Owen Prentice who appears in our 1997 book at Pg. 205, #75v; he was born 13 Oct 1839 in Shelbyville, IL and in 1882 living at Coles Station, IL However, that John would be some 20 years older than Janette Fry Pierce and Binney's 1883 book did not show a marriage for him.
John married Janette Fry Pierce on 26 Nov 1882, probably at Mt. Zion, Macon Co., IL where her parents were then living. She was born 17 Jul 1858, probably at Mt. Zion, the daughter of Alonzo Pierce and Melissa Barrett Fry who were married 20 Mar 1848 at Scott, IL but who later moved to Mt. Zion, IL. Alonzo Pierce, he was born in VT; Alonzo Pierce was b. 30 Mar 1826 at Bennington, VT.
