The Parents of Mary Wheeler of Preston, CT

Until recently, we had not been able to identify the parents of Mary Wheeler who m. Joseph Prentice of Preston, CT on 10 Nov 1725.
By letter of 18 Sep 1996, Carolyn Petrikin of Clearwater, FL, one of their descendants, relates that MARY's parents are John Wheeler and Mary Giles of Beverly, MA who moved to Preston, CT at some date after 1714. Carolyn cites, as her authority, "Chester Folks; The Founders of the Town, Their Ancestors and Descendants (1 May 1960) by Wm. S. Mills.
The IGI shows that John Wheeler was b. c. 1678 and m. Mary Giles on 29 Jun 1700, Beverly, Essex Co., MA. He may, or may not, be the John Wheeler shown in the IGI as b. 28 May 1679, Rowley, Essex Co., MA., son of John and Mary Wheeler.
