A headstone in the Cambusnethan Churchyard, Kirk Road/Greenhead Road, Wishaw, shows him to be the son of John Prentice who died 25th November 1881 aged 71 years (b. c. 1810), and that John's wife was Ann Stevenson who died 9 October 1886, aged 77 years. Caroline d. 16 November 1891, aged 49 years. Both are bur. in the Cambusnethan Churchyard. 1881 census in Wishaw. 1891 census in Wishaw. 1901 census in Cambusnethan.
