    He m. May C., b. c. 1896, Canada English, with her father b. in Scotland and mother in Canada English. Children:

    1. Earl George "George" Prentice, b. 2 Oct 1915, NY. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [2]
    2. Betty L. Prentice, b. c. 1921, MA, with her father b. in NY and mother in Canada English. At home in 1930.
    3. Kenneth J Prentice, b. c. 1927, MA, with her father b. in NY and mother in Canada English. At home in 1930.

    2. Earl G. Prentice, b. 2 Oct 1915, NY, and d. 27 Oct 2004 in Fort Pierce, Saint Lucie Co., FL, per SSDI. At home in 1930.

    He m. Beatrice LaPalme, b. 21 Dec 1918, Springfield, Hampden Co., MA, and d. 23 Jul 2004, Ft. Pierce, St. Lucie Co., FL. She was the dau. of Phillip LaPalme and Bella Charpentier per Ancestry.com . A newspaper item about the marriage reads as follows:

      Miss LaPalme Selects Thanksgiving to Wed Earl Prentice, Jr.
      Invitations are in the mails for the marriage of Miss Beatrice LaPalme, daughter of Mr and Mrs Phillip LaPalme of Alfred St and Earl Prentice Jr, son of Mr and Mrs Earl Prentice (sic) of Moore St, which will take place Thanksgiving morning at 8 in St Thomas's church. (Dated Thurs Nov 5, 1936)

    Children of Ernest and Beatrice:

    1. Janice Prentice, b. 1 Nov 1937 and d. 8 Oct 1970
    2. Donald Prentice, b. 29 Mar 1943, and d. 1979.

    Who are Ernest C. Prentice's Parents?

    As noted above, Earl G. Prentice's father is shown in the 1930 census as "Ernest C. Prentice" while the wedding item says Earl's father is "Earl Prentice" of Moore St., presumably Springfield, Hampden Co., MA. No "Earl Prentice" appears in the 1930 census other than Earl G. Prentice. The wedding item apparently erred.

    Although b. 1894, Ernest does not appear in the 1900 or 1910 census. Neither does he appear in the SSDI.

    Investigation as to the identity of the parents of Ernest C. Prentice continues.
