      Myrtle E. Stannard of Owego Myrtle E. Stannard, 90, of Owego, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2006. Myrtle was born August 17, 1916 in Eldred, Pa., to the late Harry O. and Mabel Bennett Whittemore. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, William; son, Terrence; brother, Craig Whittemore; sister, Beryl Howell Perez. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Arlene Stannard Howe and her husband, Jim; grandchildren, Kristine and Kent Maslin, Scott Stannard; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Luke and Nicholas; several nieces and nephews.

      Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, with the Rev. William Prentice officiating. Burial will follow in the Tioga Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Myrtle E. Stannard's memory to the Campville Fire Department, Campville United Methodist Church or the Owego Fire/Emergency Squad.
