He appears in the 1851 Biggar census as a General Labourer, in the 1861 Biggar census as a Ploughman, in the 1871 census living at Hearyside Lodgem as a "Farmer Graham," and in the 1881 Biggar census as a Farm Grieve (farm manager or overseer) with his wife and family.

    He m. Elizabeth airns, b. c. 1815, Broughton,m Peebleshire per Ancestry.com or b. c. 1816, Biggar (per 1851 census) The 1861 census says she was b. c. 1815, Broughton, Peebleshire. The 1881 Biggar census identifies his wife as Elizabeth, b. c. 1819, Broughton, Peeble, Scotland.

    1. Christina Prentice, b. c. 1840, Biggar. At home in 1851. Not home in 1861. At home in the 1871 Biggar census and indexed as Christina Somerville but no husband shown. Children shown in 1871 census:
