    1. William Prentice was probably b. c. 1828-35 and was a Blacksmith. He m. Margaret Pettigrew on 20 Jul Barony, Lanark, Scotland (per IGI). Known children per IGI (but none appear in the 1861 census):

    1. James Prentice, b. 20 Feb 1855, Central District, Glasgow and d. 15 Jan 1860 at a home on Killermont Street, Glasgow, at the age of 6 (per Christine Hadden, email, 26 Aug 2003).
    2. Joseph Lamb Prentice, b. 5 Mar 1857, Central District, Glasgow
    3. Peter Winton Prentice, b. 26 Mar 1859, Central District, Glasgow.
