1. Mrs. Hannah Prentice was b. c. 1794 in MA. She appears in the 1870 New Orleans, Orleans Co., LA census with a female who is likely her daughter.
The name of her husband is Unknown, but the 1880 census for his daughter, Sophia, indicates he was b. in MA. Apparent daughter:
- Sophia Anna Prentice, b. c. 1830, KY. . . . . . [2]
2. Sophia Anna Prentice, b. c. 1830 in KY, with both parents b. in MA (per 1880 census). 1880 New Orleans census living with her childen: John, Stonewall and Minerva.
She m. A. F. Alfred, b. c. 1817, North Carolia. He does not appear in the 1870 census and may then be deceased, perhaps killed in the Civil War. Sophia appears in the 1870 New Orleans census with her children: Children per census and Ancestry.com :
- John Stephen Alfred, b. Sep 1850, LA, and d. 27 Feb 1905, New Orleans, Orleans Co., LA. Worked in a lamp store. At home New Orleans in 1870. Not in 1880 census. He m. Mary E. Donovan on 4 Oct 1881, New Orleans. She was b. c. 1862, LA . with both parents b. in Ireland. Children:
- John Alfred, b. 1882. 1900 at home. 1910 not home.
- Mary Alfred, b. 1887. 1900 at home. 1910 not home.
- Enola M. Alfred, b. 1889. 1900 not home. 1910 at home. 1920 in New Orleans living with her aunt and uncle, Daniel and Celia Fletchinger.
- Ethel Alfred, b. 1895. 1900 at home. 1910 at home
- Harold Alfred, b. 1898. 1900 at home and called Howell Alfred. 1910 at home and called Harold. 1920 in New Orleans living with his aunt and uncle, Daniel and Celia Fletchinger. 1930 in New Orleans with his wife, Hazel, b. c. 1901, LA, with both parents b. in LA, and children:
- Harold Alfred, b. c. 1904, LA. At home in 1910. `
- Mary Ellen Alfred, b. c. 1906-07, LA. At home in 1910.
- Luther P. (Prentice?) Alfred, b. c. 1852, New Orleans, LA, and d. 14 Apr 1932. Clerk in a book store. At home New Orleans in 1870. and 1920.
- Clarinda Osborn Alfred, dau., b. Sep 1853, New Orleans, LA, and d. there 13 Oct 1935. At home New Orleans in 1870. She m. George White Boner on 25 Aug 1870. He was b. in IA and d. 24 Feb 1911. Children:

- Stonewall Alfred, b. c. 1862 LA. At home New Orleans in 1870. Living with his brother, John, in the 1880 census. His name suggests perhaps he was named after the Civil War General, Stonewall Jackson. 1910 census
