    In reviewing birth and christening records provided by Kerry Prentice, as well as the IGI, we found the following families:

    2. Joseph Prentice, chr. 1 Jun 1684, Great Gaddesden, Hertford, England
    3. John Prentice, chr. 18 Apr 1686, Great Gaddesden, Hertford, England

    2. Joseph Prentice, b. c. 1650-69. Children:

    1. Sarah Prentice, chr. 18 Apr 1688, Great Gaddesden, Hertford, England
    2. Thomas Prentice, chr. 8 Apr 1691, Great Gaddesden, Hertford, England

    3. Richard Prentice, b. c. 1750, m. Sophia Smith on 12 OCT 1775, Great Gaddesden, Hertford, England. Children:

    1. Thomas Prentice, chr. 01 Ded 1776, Great Gaddesden And Nettleden, Hertford. He may, or may not, be the Thomas Prentice who m. Elisabeth Radel on 21 May 1714 in Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire; it may be his brother, William, below, who m. Elizabeth Newson on 31 Dec 1829 in Wheathampstead.
    2. William Prentice, chr. 16 May 1779, Great Gaddesden And Nettleden, Hertford. He might, or might not, be the William Prentice shown as #2 in our Winter 2006 article about William Prentice of Harpenden, Hertfordshire and who lived in Wheathampstead.
    3. James Prentice, chr. 30 Sep 1781, Great Gaddesden And Nettleden, Hertford. .

    4. William Prentice and Mary:

    1. Jaumes (James?) Prentice, chr. 24 Apr 1803, Great Gaddesden And Nettleden, Hertford.

    5. Jeremy Prentice m. Sarah Bursis on 18 Sep 1824, Great Gaddesden, Hertford. He is likely the Jeremiah Prentice shown in the:

    • 1841 census in Great Gaddesden as b. c. 1806, Hertfordshire, with his wife, Sarah, b. c. 1801, Hertfordshire. No children shown.
    • 1851 census in Great Gaddesden as b. c. 1804, Water End, "Gt Goddiden", Hertfordshire, with his wife, Sarah, b. c. 1796, Flamstead, Hertfordshire. No children shown.
    • 1861 census in Great Gaddesden, Hertfordshire, as b. c. 1804, Water End, Hertfordshire, ag. laborer, widower; no wife is shown or children shown..

    He does not appear in the 1871 or 1881 census, nor does he appear in the IGI.
