1. Dow S. Prentice was b. c. 1830 in NY (per 1870 census) He appears in the 1870 census in New Hartford, Oneida Co., NY as a Railroad Laborer with his wife, Caroline, b. c. 1832, NY and children:
- Horace T. Prentice, b. c. 1856, NY.
- Dow H. Prentice, b. c. 1860, NY.
- LaMont Prentice, b. c. 1867, NY. . . . . . . . [2]
Civil War service records show that a Dow S. Prentice served as a Private in the Confederate 18th Batt'n VA Heavy Artillery. It is unclear whether he is the same person.
2. Lamont Prentice was b. c. 1867 in NY.He appears in the 1920 census in Utica, Oneida Co., NY and in the 1930 census in German Flatts, Herkimer Co., NY with his wife, Alice C., b. c. 1860-1870, NY with her fther b. in Scotland and her mother in NY. He was then 63 and she was 70, and no children are shown.
Who are Dow S. Prentice's Parents? So far we have no clue.
