Stephen Prentice of Staffordshire, England

Edward Prentice , discussed in our Spring 2001 article, lived for a time in Rushall, Staffordshire, England and had children Job and Mary born there in 1711 and 1712. In reviewing the IGI, we also found the following family:
1. Stephen Prentice who m. Ann Reynolds on 2 Feb 1663 and had the following children christened at Rushall:
- Stephen Prentice, chr. 2 Feb 1663, Rushall. . . . . . . . . . [2]
- Eleanor Prentice, chr. 21 Mar 1664, Rushall.
- Dorothy Prentice, chr. 2 Apr 1668, Rushall.
2. Stephen Prentice, chr. 2 Feb 1663, Rushall. He is probably the Stephen who m. Eleanor and had:
- Stephen Prentice, chr. 24 Jun 1682, Rushall. . . . . . . . [3]
3. Stephen Prentice, chr. 24 Jun 1682, Rushall. He is probably the Stephen who m. Mary and had the following children:
And, although the town is different, Walsall lying only about 2 miles to the SW, it is probably the same Stephen Prentice and Mary who also shown in the IGI as the parents of:
- Anne Prentice, chr. 28 Aug 1709, Rushall. She is probably the Ann Prentice who m. Thomas Green on 21 Sep 1733 in Rushall.
- John Prentice, chr. 7 Nov 1711, Rushall.
The change of location from Rushall to Walsall also parallels the change in the article on Edward Prentice, mentioned above.
- Edward Prentice, b. 14 Jan 1719, Saint Matthew, Walsall, Stafford, England.
- Dorothey Prentice, b. 12 Oct 1721, Saint Matthew, Walsall, Stafford, England.
